Bringing your new baby home is exciting – and can also be overwhelming as you face caring for your baby 24 hours a day. We strongly recommend a newborn care class to learn how to maneuver those early days and weeks with confidence.
Breastfeeding is a natural process, but it is not instinctive. Like any new skill, breastfeeding takes knowledge, practice and support to be successful. In this new postpartum relationship, the parent and baby actually learn how to breastfeed together.
Our sibling preparation class is structured to ease the transition to becoming a big brother or sister. Instructor Amy Wenger is a pediatric nurse who previously worked on the UVMMC postpartum unit and is now the head of Home Health for Franklin County.
Susan Cline Lucey has 11 years experience as a labor doula and offers compassionate, unbiased doula services for yoga or birth class students. A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support for families before, during, and after the birth.
