Congratulations on the birth of your baby!  We look forward to practicing yoga with you and your little one.  Evolution Prenatal & Family Yoga Center offers postnatal yoga classes focused on rebuilding your strength and alignment after so many months growing your baby, plus infant and baby yoga classes specifically tailored to the needs of your baby from 6 weeks and up.  Our community-focused classes are light-hearted, comfortable and welcoming.

Postnatal Yoga focuses on bringing the body back to strength and alignment in a fun and nurturing environment with other mothers. We begin the class with a short community check-in and then move into a moderately-paced yoga class focusing on relieving shoulder and back pain, strengthening deep abdominal and pelvic muscles, and building stamina.

Feel free to bring your baby with you, as well as a baby blanket to rest the baby on. Be prepared to practice yoga, but also to take breaks to feed your baby or change a diaper. Anything goes in our postnatal classes! We have incredible helpers for each class called “baby bouncers” who are here solely to help hold babies who don’t want to be lying down, so you can get more of your yoga in. Postnatal Yoga and Postnatal Core are appropriate for women with babies 6 weeks to pre-crawling.

Rediscover a connection to your core in this post-natal yoga class that you and your baby can attend. Learn how to use your core muscles in a balanced way to reduce bulging of the abdomen and strain on the back and hips. Meagen Satinsky PT brings her years of experience as a yoga instructor and women’s health physical therapist to this class to target your abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles. You will learn how to strengthen your upper body with core stability to assist with all of the lifting and carrying required of motherhood.

Infant Yoga and Massage is an interactive, light-hearted class for babies 6 weeks to 6 months. This sweet class provides you the opportunity to mindfully connect with your little one through song, gentle movements and relaxation. Class activities increase baby’s body awareness, aid in digestion, and cultivate a more relaxed and joyful state for the baby. We focus a portion of each class on learning tips and tools for bonding with and relaxing your baby at home. Families receive a song and activity list at the end so that you can continue the routines you've learned after the session has finished. Please bring a thick baby blanket with you to class.

Baby Yoga is a laughter-filled class for babies sitting, scooting, crawling and slow walking. We use age-appropriate props, as well as songs and games, to build coordination, strength and balance for these young yogis. As a parent, you’ll notice how instinctual yoga is to your little baby as they move into downward facing dog, star, and even tree pose!

Make-ups for missed classes can be completed on the alternate class of the week for the appropriate age group (or as close to the correct age grouping as possible) or in Sunday 12:15 pm postnatal yoga with Susan (please leave your baby/child at home). Our playgroup fosters community, support, and friendship in the months after birth. Whether you are a new mom or you’ve just had another baby, you’re invited to come hang out, discuss, and unwind. These free gathering offers you an opportunity to reflect on the joys and challenges of motherhood in a casual, supportive environment.

NEW MOMS PLAYGROUP: Tuesdays, 11:15 am - 1 pm. For moms with pre-crawling babies (Please note, this is different than postnatal yoga, and moms can be earlier than 6 weeks postpartum to attend).

The mission of this group is to dedicate a few hours every month surrounded by a consistent community of women who can help support each other through the transitions of new motherhood. This group takes place in our lobby space and is not a yoga class!

There are many offerings in our community for prenatal support but what about after the baby is born? What happens when family leaves or friends stop delivering meals? After months of preparation for the birth of a baby, there is little support for women in the post-partum stage who are coping with one of the biggest transitions of their lives. This group will be a place to begin exploring your thoughts and questions about issues such as:

    • Work Transitions – back to work/staying home
    • Body-changes/body image
    • Sex after babies
    • Partnership: domestic chores and the quest for equality
    • Values: Starting now – how to find your own parenting philosophy
    • Goals and Dreams for you

Tuesday evenings, 6-8 pm, once a month for 9 consecutive months:
Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14, Dec. 12, Jan. 9, Feb. 13, Mar. 13, April 10, May 8
The VerMamas group is for adults only, no babies please.
