Pregnancy, childbirth, and early motherhood can be both challenging and rewarding. There are rapid changes in your body, your lifestyle, your relationships, your work, and even your very identity. Mindfulness, as a way of being, is a heartfelt way to gently meet the thoughts, feelings, and situations you will be faced with in pregnancy, in birth, and in motherhood.
MINDFULNESS SKILLS CAN BE LEARNED AND PRACTICED TO:
- Help prepare you to meet the challenges of pregnancy and mothering
- Improve your ability to deal with stress and difficult moods
- To get less caught up in negative thinking patterns
- Be more available to the pleasurable moments and deep joy that motherhood can bring.
This introductory series for pregnancy is held over 4 weeks. You will be learning mindful awareness in several ways; sitting, walking, breathing, and body awareness meditations, mindful movement, discussion, and readings. Home practice between sessions is encouraged.
